4/26/2024
* High School football players need to bring their interim reports by Coach Blair's classroom today after testing is over.

* All Juniors and Seniors need to bring their signed Prom Promise cards to the North Courtyard today at lunch for a free cookout and a drawing for some gift cards!

* Friday, May 10th there will be a MADE Sponsored field day. There will be Powder Puff games, cookout, and King of the Courts games.  Must be a MADE member to participate but all students are able to watch and enjoy the cookout.  Sign up with Ms. Dresbach.

*The boys track team finished 8th at the Vinton County Invitational last night:
Scoring for the Panthers:
Britton Ford with a 2nd place in the discus and 8th place in the shot put.
Gage Renison with a 2nd place in the 800m run
Grayson Roberts with a 4th place in the 3200m run and a 6th place in the 1600m run
Daniel Morgan with a 6th place in the high jump.
Carter Fisher with a 7th place in the long  jump.
Braydon Dickson with an 8th place in the 400m dash.
Craig Branham with an 8th place tie in the high jump.
The 4x200m relay team of Braydon Dickson, Carter Fisher, Daniel Morgan, and Eli Ramey finished 3rd.
The 4x800m relay team of Gage Renison, Daniel Morgan, Carson Stepp, and Grayson Roberts finished 5th.
The 4x100m relay team of Eli Ramey, Jake Wireman, Luke Jones, and Carter Fisher finished 7th.

Also, at Tuesday's meet at Jackson, Jake Wireman placed 5th in the 110m hurdles and Grayson Roberts placed 6th in the 3200m run. Craig Branham was 4th in the high jump and Carter Fisher was 6th in the high jump.

*Congratulations to the Southeastern High School Symphonic Band on receiving an Excellent Rating at OMEA State Large Group Contest last Friday! Everyone should be extremely proud of the band’s performance and how well the band represented our school and community at the state level. A special congratulations to our band Seniors Wyatt Atkinson, Andrew Davis, and Trenton Pickell for their outstanding leadership tonight. Congratulations to all band members on a great performance at our first state appearance!

*The boys track team competed at the Huntington Invitational last night finishing 6th.
Grayson Roberts was 3rd in the 3200m run and 4th in the 1600m run
Gage Renison was 3rd in the 800m run and 5th in the 1600m run
Connor Smith was 5th in the Long Jump
Daniel Morgan was 5th in the 400m dash
Britton Ford was 6th in the Discus.

*The Southeastern Performing Arts Department will be presenting their final show of the season on Saturday, April 20th! "Mystery at Shady Acres" is a lighthearted ’whodunit' with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing!  

We are in need of volunteers to help with the event!  Below is a link to our help sign-up, and we would appreciate any assistance you may be able to provide!  We are in need of meal prep and serving, venue set up, ticket takers, and desserts for our Dessert Auction.  Any volunteers are encouraged to attend our final dress rehearsals on Thursday, April 18th between 4:30 and 8:00 to experience the show and help out the actors in their crowd interactions!

* Just a reminder to all students: If you arrive or leave during the school day, you must go through the main front doors.

* Southeastern Baseball won last night over Piketon 13-1.

*Prom Permission forms will be collected during High School Lunch.  Ms. Cox and Ms.Mitten will pick them up. Any student who needs a signature from me, (Guest form bringing another that isn't a Southeastern Student, I will be down in the small gym to sign.  We want to just speed this up if we can.  We want to designate lunch as the time we do all the prom stuff and other activities if we can.   Please do not let them out of the classroom to go deliver prom forms, go to the office, etc.

* Congratulations to the FFA Dairy Cattle CDE! They placed 36th out of 76 teams at the State Contest over the weekend.
There were 409 total competitors at the contest.
Addyson Stewart placed 30th

* Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors for next year: Everyone has a personalized schedule of your choice. There will be no changes unless you have an upgrade which is approved by Mr. Ruckel.

* Congratulations to the Southeastern-Ross FFA Chapter on their Career Development Events this weekend. 
The General Livestock team placed 41st out of  191 Teams. There were 1041 individuals that competed, Hudson Drake placed 19th, Levi Ginter placed 267th, Parker Whittington 387th, Chloe Wills 441st, Addyson Stewart 451st, Layne Baxter 657th, and Emily Simpson 830th.

* The Equine Management Team placed 53rd out of 107 teams.  There were 337 individuals that completed, Karlie Peters ranked 136th,Seth Walker placed 178th, Blain Yates placed 259th, and Quade Park ranked 308th.

*Congratulations to all the cast and crew of the Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition for a fantastic weekend of sold out performances! Your work has made our community and school very proud!

*The SE Performing Arts Department is excited to announce the upcoming dinner theatre production! Mystery at Shady Acres is a comedic play revolving around the mystery of a stolen diamond necklace. Students interested in participating will meet at lunch on Tuesday in Mrs. Adelsperger's room for more information. 

*High School Boys Track: Go to Mr. Grim's room after school today. We will be having a meeting there prior to practice. 

* This year's current Freshman will schedule for next year on Tuesday.

* Congratulations to Ben Detty, Layne Baxter, Blain Yates, and Quade Park. These 4 went up to Teays Valley yesterday with the District 7 FFA AG Mechanics Skills Career Development Event. Overall, the team was 3rd in the district. Ben Detty was 5th place individual at the contest.

* Congratulations to the first year Southeastern-Ross FFA members who competed in the Greenhand Quiz Career Development Event. This event tests student's knowledge of the history and structure of the FFA. There were 173 FFA Chapters that competed in this event, and Southeastern placed 9th. There were over 3400 students that competed across the state! Kolten Thompson placed 25th, Addy Stewart -94th, Ben Detty - 101st, and Gracie Brown 147! These students earned a Top 10 plaque from the Ohio FFA Congratulations!

* Last Friday the High School Symphonic Band received a state qualifying Superior Rating at the OMEA District Large Group contest. The band will advance to the state band contest for the first time in school history on Friday, April 19th.

*Winter Sports Banquet will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 7pm in the cafetorium.

* Attendance percentages are being tallied every day and week until May 3rd. The grade level who has the over all best attendance rate will be awarded a two class period pizza party. In order to attend this party for your grade level, you must have an attendance rate of 90% or higher to be included with your grade. This will be decided after May 3rd.

Every Friday leading up to May 3, two students in grades 9-12 will have the chance to win various prizes if your attendance rate is 93% or above. This drawing will begin on Friday, February 23. So,come to school and have a chance to win prizes.  

*Mandatory Parents meeting for any parent who has an athlete participating in Spring Sports at Southeastern High School. The meeting will be Thursday, March 7th at 6pm in the Jr. High Gymnasium. Thank you for your time.

*As spring sports begin and the 3rd nine weeks are finishing up all students should be focusing on their work in the classroom so they are eligible for the spring season.  We want all students to have the opportunity to participate.

* SE will be hosting a College Credit Plus and Dual Credit night on Wednesday, November 8th at 6:00 PM in the library computer lab. Interested students should plan to attend with a parent of guardian. 

* The High School Quiz Bowl team will report to the Art Room at 2:50 today and board the bus for our scrimmage against Huntington. 

* The FFA has been taking part in a lot of Career Development Events recently:
Addyson Stewart, Daniel Morgan, and Ally Fisher all competed with the Sub District Job Interview Contest a few weeks ago. Daniel and Ally both placed 3rd at the sub-district contest. Addyson placed 1st at the sub­district, and advanced to the district competition where she placed 4th overall. Congratulations to these FFA Members.

The Animal Management Team placed 42nd out of 83 teams at the state competition. This contest involves getting more familiar with the types of companion animals that people are likely to have. Chloe Wills was first on the team, Kiara Maldonado 2nd, Addy Stewart 3rd, Blain Yates 4th, Quade Park 5th, and Emily Simpson 6th. Congratulations to these FFA Members.

The Ag Tech and Mechanical Systems COE team placed 42 out of 57 teams at the state contest. This competition tests students' knowledge of technology liable to be encountered on the farm, and how to solve problems relating to that technology. The team consisted of Layne Baxter first on the team, Quade Park 2nd, Blain Yates, 3rd, and Ben Detty 4th. Congratulations to these FFA Members as well.

* Congratulations to Karlie Peters and Grayson Roberts for their great performances this weekend at the Division 3 Cross Country Regionals held at Pickerington North.  
Karlie finished 63rd out of 154 runners with a time of 21:42. Grayson finished 75th out of 141 runners with a time of 18:18. Congratulations to both of you on an outstanding season!

* Congratulations to the SE Marching Panthers for receiving an overall Excellent rating at the OMEA Lancaster competition last Saturday. The Marching Panthers Indoor Concert will be held this Tuesday, October 24th @ 7:00 PM in the cafetorium.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. 

* The SE Middle School Cross Country competed yesterday at the OHSAA 7th and 8th grade invitational at Fortress Obetz. Jacob Bunke placed 102nd in his race.  

* SE High School Cross Country competed Saturday in the Division 3 District Met at the University of Rio Grande. Emma Slatton placed 47th and Addyson Stewart placed 71st with a new personal best time of 27:26. Gage Renison finished 48th and Cole Leasure finished 92nd.  
Advancing to the Division 3 Regional Meet this Saturday at Pickerington North High School is Grayson Roberts with a 19th place and Karlie Peters with a 15th place finish.  Congratulations to these two runners and to the entire team for a very successful season!

* The SE Cross Country team competed Saturday at the 52nd annual "Patty Forgey" Rio Grande Cross Country  Invitational. For the middle school boys, Jacob Bunke finished 171/249 with a new personal best time of 15:33. For the HS girls, Karlie Peters finished 33/204 with a time of 21:59, Emma Slatton finished 84/204 with a time of 24:26, and Addyson Stewart finished 166/204 with a new personal best time of 28:36. For the HS boys, Gage Renison finished 159/296 with a time of 21:09. Cole Leasure placed 179/296 with a new personal best of 21:36 and Grayson Roberts earned a 25th place trophy with a new personal best time of 17;47.

*The Southeastern Cross Country team competed last night at the Jackson "Elyse Black Memorial" Invitational. For the middle school boys, Jacob Bunke finished 20th. For the High School girls, Karlie Peters earned a 4th place medal. Emma Slatton placed 7th, and Addyson Stewart placed 13th. For the High School boys, Grayson Roberts earned a 6th place medal. Gage Renison placed 17th, and Cole Leasure placed 30th.

*There will be a meeting for all members of the Junior class, including PRCTC students (bus riders and drivers) on Monday morning, September 25th. This brief meeting will take place immediately following morning announcements. Students will receive a parent letter with out scheduled fundraisers, requirements for junior class representatives, and decorating committee. These items have also been mailed home.

*The Southeastern Homecoming Dance "Starry Night"  will take place on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 7-10 pm.  Any SE student wishing to bring a non-SE student as a guest must complete a Guest Request from available in the High School Office.  All guest forms must be approved by Mr. Ruckel before tickets may be purchased.  Guests' age may range from 9th grade to 20 years old.  No middle school students are allowed at the dance.  Tickets will be $15 per person and will be on sale Monday, September 25 through Friday, September 29. *SE Cross Country competed during a rainy evening last night at the Adena Village Invitational.  For the Junior High boys, Jacob Bunke ran 18:44 and placed 44th. For the High School Girls, Karlie Peters earned a 7th place medal with a personal best time of 22:07. Emma Slatton placed 19th with a time of 25:41.  Addyson Stewart ran a personal best time of 28:49 and placed 29th.  For the High School boys, Grayson Roberts earned a 4th place medal with a personal best time of 18:01. Gage Renison placed 21st with a personal best time of 19:58.  Cole Leasure ran a time of 23:01 and placed 48th.

Fro the high school boys, Grayson Roberts earned a 22nd place medal with a time of 18:57. Gage Renison earned a 67th place ribbon with time a of 20:24. Southeastern Cross Country was in action Saturday at Wellston and last night at Huntington. Junior High boys Jacob Bunke ran a personal best time of 16:16 at Wellston. High School girls Karlie Peters earned a 22nd place medal at Wellston and a 7th place medal at Huntington while running a personal best time of 23:28 at Huntington. Emma Slatton earned a 26th place meda at Wellston. Addyson Stewart ran a personal best time of 29:49 at Wellston. High School boys, Grayson Roberts earned a 11th place medal at Wellston, a 10th place medal at Huntington and ran a season bst time of 18:49 at Huntington. Gage Renison earned a 42nd place medal at Wellston, a 20th place medal at Huntington, and ran a personal best time of 20:30 at Huntington. * The performing arts department will be putting on the high school musical November 17th  through November 19th. We hope you will “be Our Guest” as we prepare to put on the Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast! 


Cast placement information will be available to high school student this coming Monday outside of Mrs. Adelsperger’s room. Students interested in more information are encouraged to sign up on the interest forms located outside of Mrs. Adelsperger’s room and the cafeteria today. Students who are put their name down on the interest form will receive cast placement information via email a day early! 


We are looking for 30 to 40 students to join us to bring this exciting musical to life, so don’t wait to get signed up and join the fun!
